Our Mission
We are the Diversity in Math club at McGill University, and we aim to inspire people from all backgrounds to explore and develop their passion for mathematics.
We strive to create an inclusive community that fosters an open learning environment in mathematics for underrepresented minorities and allies. Our mission is to provide mentorship and networking opportunities to encourage students from underrepresented backgrounds to pursue mathematics-related careers, as well as raise awareness about the need for more diversity in mathematics.

The original picture is of the Trinity Mathematical Society, founded by students at Cambridge in 1919 to “promote the discussion of subjects of mathematical interest”. The society still exists and one can learn more about it on their website. The inspiration came from this AMS feature column about pseudonyms in math.
